Industry veteran James Fleming, President of the Miami-based Camelot Consulting Group, is launching a
series of all-day retailing excellence training seminars intended to support retailers by educating them on meeting marketplace challenges and expanding their businesses. The workshops require an investment of $495 per person, and $199 to include additional a endees from the same business. Vendor sponsors can provide free passes.
According to Fleming, one of the best strategies for vendors to grow their business – and trade associations to serve and expand their membership – is to evolve their business practices. This

is particularly important for indepen- dent and family-owned retailers who o en don’t have continuous business improvement training programs in place. The EVOLVE workshops are designed to deliver “tangible, actionable, and market-proven retailing best practices” to help retailers reverse the eroding sales, margins, and pro ts of today’s retail environment.
The EVOLVE program will kick o
its nationwide tour of 28 cities on September 27 in Asheville, N.C., the day a er the American Lighting Association Conference. From there, EVOLVE work- shops will take place in cities throughout the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest before culminating in Dallas in time for Lightovation.
As an executive and owner of several businesses operating within the home remodeling, improvement, and design industries, Fleming has served on numerous retail advisory boards for vendors and industry association panels and has spoken at national trade confer- ences. In addition, he has authored articles in regional and national trade and shelter magazines.
