                                                                               PELHAM :: SAVOY HOUSE
What’s noteworthy: The elongated oval shade – comprised of medallion shapes in
a grid pattern – allows this fixture to suit a variety of décors from Bohemian and Eclectic to Modern and Transitional.
Designed by Brian Thomas, the Pelham’s frame is distinguished by dark-colored downrods, metal candle covers, finials, and bold rims along the shade, which is in a warm Castillo Brass finish. This 8-light fixture is lamped with 60-watt candelabras and measures 40'' long x 14.5'' wide x 11'' high. It has an adjustable hanging height from 11 to 65 inches. www.savoyhouse.com
CALIOPE :: 2ND AVENUE What’s noteworthy:
Customization – in finish and size – is important to today’s consumers, and having a domestic manufacturing facility is one way to achieve maximum flexibility for clients.
The 24-light Caliope chandelier spans 80 inches wide and is adorned with amber faux candlelights perched on bobeches supported
by scrolled arms of hand-forged
iron; the decorative accents and hardware are in a Rococco finish. A central downlight provides additional illumination. Handcrafted in the company’s New York factory, the
oval fixture has an overall height that can be field-adjusted from 87 to 158 inches to accommodate each specific lighting application. www.2ndave.com
FASCIO COLLECTION :: VISUAL COMFORT What’s noteworthy: As designer Lauren Rottet explains, “The lights appear simple, but they are technologically complex to design and engineer. The technology wasn’t there to do these even three years ago.” According to designer and interior architect Rottet, the challenge was to utilize LED technology and improve upon it, removing the glare, yet not allowing it to appear too flat.
“Lighting has been integral
to the many interiors I have designed,” she says. “I’ve always loved glass and am fascinated
by the techniques that produce glass tubes and rods.” Her Fascio Collection – which translates into “bundle” in Italian – is comprised of faceted glass tubes and rods that are bound and produced as sconces, pendant lights, chandeliers, and a floor lamp.
The series is manufactured out of highly refined, smooth cut crystal wrapped in textured and smooth brass sleeves in a choice of Polished Nickel, Hand-rubbed Antique Brass, and Bronze finishes. www.visualcomfort.com
