 HAUTE HOSPITALITY
The Industrial feel of the bar/ restaurant is tempered by the timeless style of the Hampton pendant fixtures throughout the space.
renowned Parker’s Grille & Tavern in Avon Lake – is a bar-restaurant that has accumulated its own following thanks to its top-rated cuisine and décor that pays homage to Cleveland’s architec- tural uniqueness. For example, flanking the bar are nearly life-size replicas of the city’s famed “Guard- ians of Traffic” statues designed by sculptor Henry Hering and architect Frank Walker. The originals stand on pylons at each end of the 5,865'-long, Art Deco truss Hope Memorial Bridge – listed on the National Register of Historic Places – crossing the Cuyahoga River.
The restaurant’s expansive layout incorporates strong architectural lines and urban rustic décor, reflective of Parker’s hearty urban fare. Its spa- cious interior seats 120 in the midst of steel rivets, cool wood, and distinctive flooring.
Cleveland native and Executive Chef Andrew Gorski and his culinary team are passionate about the “field to plate” philosophy, working closely with local suppliers to select the freshest, ethically sourced, seasonal foods to help distinguish the kitchen and celebrate Cleveland’s food heritage.
Bringing harmony to the table while incorpo- rating even more local panache, co-proprietors James and Victoria Mowbray contacted Cleve- land-based manufacturer Hinkley Lighting for help on the lighting design. Hinkley’s Hospitality Sales Manager, Jeff Thomas, and Quinn Sack, Hinkley’s Visual Merchandising Manager, worked with the Mowbrays on the project.
Hinkley’s popular Hampton fixture family – dis- tinguished by off-white linen drum shades and classic lines – was selected to provide the desired aesthetics, with LED lamping for easy mainte- nance. Hampton’s minimal, rectangular frame, paired with a decorative acrylic etched bottom lens to prevent glare, creates a soft elegant touch to the atmosphere.
The operators of Parker’s Downtown are par- ticularly proud of their ability to keep suppliers local for both the ingredients as well as design elements. 
