STICKBULB

Designed by RUX, a multi-disciplinary design studio

based in Long Island City, N.Y., Stickbulb was co-
founded by long-time friends and Yale School of

Architecture graduates Russell Greenberg and
Christopher Beardsley as a way to express their

mutual love of architecture, modular systems, and
sustainable manufacturing. Inspired by a pile of long

linear wooden cut-o s in their workshop, the RUX
designers challenged themselves to develop a truly

sustainable lighting system.
As a starting point, they only considered designs

that could be manufactured locally and a ordably
within a ve-mile radius of their New York City o ce.

They chose to use reclaimed and sustainably sourced

woods as a primary building material, and sourced
energy-e cient LED technologies and components.

The collection was designed with the least number
of parts possible and with connections that make the

pieces easy to separate for maintenance, recycling, or
reuse.

The Stickbulb itself is a sleek, wooden beam with an
LED light; it is the basic building block of any Stickbulb

xture that RUX (and their clients) can dream up —
from small table lamps to room- lling installations.
