Co-Founder of Adesso, Peggy Traub Dies

Earlier today, the home décor industry lost a great innovator, leader, and Adesso mourns the loss of its President and CEO, Peggy Traub, after a long valiant battle with cancer.

In 1994, Peggy Traub started Adesso with business partner, Lee Schaak, and built a successful company in lighting and ready-to-assemble furniture. In addition to being a recognized industry leader, she was big believer in the power and benefits of networking.  In 1997, she co-founded WithIt (Women in the Home Industries Today) a national trade organization that serves the needs of professional women in the home furnishings industry.  She was also a member of the Women Presidents’ Organization, the Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, the Committee of 200 and the advisory board of KIDS (Kids in Distressed Situations).

Peggy earned a BA from Harvard and resided in Brooklyn Heights with her partner Phyllis Dicker.  Together Peggy and Phyllis have sponsored the Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship for several years, which annually awards scholarship funds to worthy college students.

Peggy will be greatly missed by the Adesso family and all who knew her in the industry.

Funeral services will be held January 14, 2:00 p.m., Plaza Jewish Memorial Chapel, 630 Amsterdam Avenue at 91st Street, NY, NY 10024.
