Accessory Resource Team, the creative home furnishings network, invites all home accents vendors, sales representatives, buyers, and industry suppliers to attend and participate in Industry Talks with Randy Eller of Eller Enterprises on Thursday, July 10 at 8:30 am, Building 1, 10th Floor – Meeting Room 10-01 during the Atlanta Market in AmericasMart.
The subject of the changing role of sales reps in the home accents business was first raised during this year’s ART Conference in San Diego. Its overwhelming popularity with attendees led ART Conference organizers to quickly recognize that this and many other hot topics discussed during the San Diego gathering should be continued throughout the year. As a result, ART will host the first session, which is open to the industry, during the upcoming Atlanta Market in July. The format is an open exchange between vendors, retailers, and reps to discuss sensitive, but relevant, issues for the industry.
“I believe, unequivocally two truths,” Eller states. “First, if a retailer in today’s business climate wants to succeed, they must recognize the unparalleled value a quality sales representative, whether they be a company-employed salesperson or an independent sales rep, can bring to their business. Sales representatives are their ‘opening to the world’ in terms not only of just raw information, but also ‘real world’ success they are seeing in other stores,” he adds. “Conversely, sales reps in today’s world must be willing to recognize that the universe of information – and therefore their job description – must change in order to maintain value and relevance in today’s business climate. I am happy to contribute to a constructive discussion on how to help our industry not only survive, but to excel,” he says.
This session is open to everyone in the home accents business. For more information about this session, ART membership, or other ART programs, contact the ART office at (704) 376-4278 or visit the Web site at www.accessoriesresourceteam.org
