Dallas-Market-Gala-2015

Executives from the lighting and home décor industries gathered for a party to officially congratulate Bill Winsor and Cindy Morris on their new positions at the Dallas Market Center.

Starting on July 1, Cindy Morris took over Winsor’s long-time role as President and CEO, while Winsor continues to be active with the DMC in a new role as Chairman Emeritus. To celebrate the occasion, lighting and home décor manufacturers turned out for an elegant cocktail party hosted at the Old Parkland campus, which is the headquarters for Crow Family Holdings.

The Old Parkland campus is an on-going development project on the grounds of the historic former Parkland Hospital, which is being renovated and expanded as Class A office space. It is home to Crow Family Holdings (owner/operator of the DMC) and other tenants such as TRT Holdings, which owns Omni Hotels & Resorts and Gold’s Gym International among other properties.

For the past 13 years, Morris has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the DMC; Winsor has worked for the Crow family for 35 years, most recently as President and CEO of the DMC.  Morris has overseen strategic growth across key categories, plus significant new business initiatives and effective international partnerships in Europe and Asia. She has also been instrumental in establishing and strengthening collaborative relationships with leading organizations, manufacturers, and sales rep organizations and will continue to strengthen partnerships and expand new business opportunities.

In the newly created role of Chairman Emeritus, Winsor will continue to be actively involved with the business, further developing and managing DMC’s expanding retail alliance programs as well as assisting the executive committee and owners with long-range planning and new business development projects.

Manufacturers who hold permanent showroom space in the DMC turned out to congratulate Winsor and Morris on their achievements, as did executives from the American Lighting Association (ALA) which also has its headquarters in the DMC.
