The Educational Foundation (EF) of IFDA, the International Furnishings and Design Association, has announced its third annual DesignEDGE industry summit, which for the first time, will be held at the High Point Market. The topic? “Blurring Boundaries: Top Designers Who Defy the Limits of Design…and successfully navigate the crossovers between residential, workplace, hospitality, and product in business.”
Three of the leading lights in the design industry – Lauren Rottet, Sheila Bridges and Young Huh – are addressing this important topic on Monday, October 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the IHFC Ballroom, 11th floor (Green Wing). Sponsors include International Market Centers High Point; High Point Market Authority; Steelyard, the product information resource for designer professionals; Thayer Coggin, known for its custom modern furniture; and the International Society of Furniture Designers (ISFD).
Lauren Rottet, Founding Principal and President of Rottet Studio, is an internationally acclaimed architect, interior designer, furniture designer, and art curator who will address what you need to know to successfully navigate the boundaries. She has a new line of lighting with Visual Comfort & Co. at this market, as well as a new collection with Haworth and her award-winning Rottet Collection of furniture.
Sheila Bridges has designed stylish, high-end residences and offices for prominent entertainers, entrepreneurs and business professionals, including former President Bill Clinton and his staff, as well as furnishings for manufacturers and national retailers Bed Bath & Beyond and Anthropologie. Her Harlem Toile de Jouy wallpaper is in the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s permanent collection. She has been an Elle Decor A-List Designer since 2011. She will have a conversation about reviving your client base and how to push aesthetic and functional boundaries.
Young Huh and her firm specialize in residential and commercial interiors. In 2014 and 2019, Young designed rooms in the Kips Bay Designer Show House to rave reviews. Her glass/mosaic “Elements” Collection for AKDO showcases her product design skills. A noted social media influencer, her Instagram followers exceed 50,000. She is a 2019 Elle Decor A-List Designer.
