Las Vegas Market Partners With New Retail, Trade Groups

Las Vegas Market will partner with more than 50 industry organizations during the Winter 2020 show, running Jan. 26-30. Several home furnishings and interior design events are planned as a result of these partnerships, including:

Gail Doby Coaching and Consulting, who will be presenting “How to Achieve Great Financial Results & Keep Your Sanity” from 4 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26. In the seminar, Doby provides the answers on how to build your business, grow your bottom line and maintain your sanity.

Additionally, Kevin Htain, member of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals (IAHSP) board of directors and IDENTITY HOME staging+design, will present “How Home Staging and Interior Design Businesses can be Blended” from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28. During the session, Htain will discuss the similarities and differences between home staging services and interior design, how the goals and business operations differ, and how to receive more information to establish a successful staging business.

“Las Vegas Market welcomes the industry’s top trade and retail organizations to Market,” said Dorothy Belshaw, IMC Chief Marketing and Digital Officer. “As the leading home furnishings and gift market in the western U.S., Las Vegas Market is an ideal platform to connect these professionals with the suppliers, products and resources they need to be successful now and in the future.”

New Partnerships

Las Vegas Market will be partnering with two new organizations for the winter show.

The Oriental Rug Importers Association is a national trade association formed in 1958 to develop ethical business practices and promote the best interests of the Oriental Rug Trade in the United States and in countries that produce oriental rugs. ORIA membership includes more than 65 leading United States-based importers, wholesalers, and manufacturers of area rugs and oriental carpets whose products sell at retail in all of the 50 states. During Market, ORIA will hold its annual breakfast meeting.

The National Alliance of Floral Associations brings together leaders of the American botanical industry to learn, network, and better service their florist members through programs, training, and benefits. This winter, NAFA will hold its board meeting at Las Vegas Market.

“Las Vegas Market will be a great benefit for those attending the meeting,” said Adam Havrilla, President of NAFA. “Not only will the individuals be able to take advantage of being at Las Vegas Market, they will be able to go back to their states and share the benefits of the Market with their membership. The Market provides wonderful shopping opportunities to sustain businesses.”

In addition to partnership with new associations, Las Vegas Market will introduce a first-time cooperation with Giftbeat magazine to host an at-Market networking reception for its reporting stores. In addition to this members-only event, publisher Erica Kirkland will present Turning 2020 Trends into Year-Round Profits with veteran retailers Christie Manry of Elam’s Hallmark (San Diego, Calif.) and Deborah Breither of Elly’s Gifts (Emerald Isle, N.C.) from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Additionally, for the first time at Winter Market, Business of Design is holding its Business of Design™ Conference | Jan 2020, a two-day conference providing interior designers, decorators, stagers, architects, and stylists with a blueprint for a successful design practice. The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, and Sunday, Jan. 26.
