Waukegan, Ill.-based AFX Inc. (formerly American Fluorescent), has promoted Tim Tevyaw to President of AFX. The current and long-time president, Bill Solomon, will transition to the role of CEO.
A 15-year veteran of AFX, Tevyaw most recently served as VP/Sales & Marketing where he led sales growth recovery from the start of the recession in 2008 and was integral in the subsequent development and execution of successful growth strategies.
“For over a decade, Tim has worked alongside me, and his assumption of the President role is a natural and well-deserved transition,” notes Bill Solomon. “I am pleased for him and the organization, and the continuity he represents as he commences leadership of AFX.”
As CEO, Bill Solomon will continue development of the strategic direction for AFX.
In his new role Tevyaw will be responsible for developing the high-performance culture and organization that supports AFX’s long-range strategic vision and growth objectives. “Our mission is to fulfill the promise of the AFX brand,” he states. “Our passion is to deliver the best lighting solutions for any customer in any environment.”
Tevyaw joined American Fluorescent in 1998 as Director/National Accounts for the DIY and Hardware channels and successfully grew the business for both. In 2006, he was promoted to VP/Sales for the Commercial, Residential, and Retail Sales channels. In 2011, he was promoted to VP/Sales & Marketing overall.
