After previous Chairman of the Board Bob Dillon left Hubbardton Forge several weeks ago, the Chairman of the Board position at the American Lighting Association (ALA) became vacant. Dillon had been elected to fill that position during the fall 2017 ALA Conference.
Following a formal vote by members of the ALA Board of Governors, it was announced that Peter de Steiger, CEO of Ray Lighting Centers in Michigan, will hold the position. De Steiger steps into the role from his existing position as Chair-Elect, and will remain Chairman through 2019.
Dillon’s departure also left a vacant manufacturer seat on the board. President and CEO of Quoizel Rick Seidman was already slated to take that seat following a vote from the ALA Governors’ Nominating Committee in January 2018. He will now fill the seat early, and continue his position into the following year, and will then serve out the remainder of his three-year term.
“While we are saddened to lose Bob as Chairman for 2018, Pete’s extensive service to ALA and the industry, coupled with his leadership experience, will allow for a seamless transition,” states Eric Jacobson, ALA President & CEO. “We are fortunate to have so many dedicated members who are willing to offer their time and expertise to our board, and it is with great confidence that I welcome Pete and Rick into these roles.”
