Creative Lighting Closes Its Doors, Inventory Being Sold at Auction

The award-winning Minnesota lighting showroom, Creative Lighting, has closed after nearly one century in business.

Creative Lighting was founded in 1926 and operated by the Minsberg family until it was acquired in 2022 by Bellacor – a company that was borne out of the Creative Lighting showroom in 2000 and run/managed independently – which declared bankruptcy several months ago. Lighting retailer Capitol Lighting recently acquired the Bellacor brand and digital properties.  The Minsberg family exited Creative Lighting after the sale in fall 2022.

Grafe Auctions is hosting the liquidation of inventory via auction. A public preview of the items was held yesterday, September 16, giving customers the opportunity to see the offerings in person prior to bidding. The auction starts today, September 17, at 10 a.m. and will continue until all items in the auction have gone through the bidding process. For full auction details, click here
