The City of High Point and the High Point Market Authority (HPMA) will present the Green Market Award to Hickory White for their proper handling of trash and recycling during the Spring and Fall 2017 Market.
A typical Market event generates more than 500 tons of cardboard and other recyclable materials, all of which is removed by the City. Showrooms that comply with City guidelines greatly help during a hectic and busy time for the Public Services department.
“Hickory White has consistently contributed to the clean and safe environment that is important to our residents and to the thousands of Market guests and visitors we have twice a year,” says High Point Mayor Jay Wagner. “The City is encouraged by their attention to cardboard and trash guidelines and their overall cooperation during such a crucial time. On behalf of the City of High Point, I want to thank Hickory White for their commitment to the High Point Market and to keeping our city clean and green.”
The Green Market Award is presented annually, recognizing one showroom each following year. Hickory White will receive the award at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13 at their showroom, located at 309 N. Hamilton Street.
