In development for several years due to the intricacy of perfecting a lighting system that delivers illumination via connective leather straps, domestic lighting manufacturer Hubbardton Forge unveiled its patent-pending SNAPS line during the Fall High Point Market.
Designed by Andy Morter, one of the manufacturer’s in-house designers, SNAPS is unique for the many configurations that can be achieved – from wall sconces and pendants to a variety of chandeliers – in order to truly customize a space.
“I realized that if the conductor becomes a beautiful thing, then suddenly, it unlocks new doors. With SNAPS, the conductive leather straps are the essence of the fixture,” Morter explains.
Partnering with Italian leather upholstery manufacturer Spinneybeck, the SNAPS line can be ordered in the standard leather colors of Chestnut, White, and Black as well as an array of custom leather colors from Spinneybeck’s vast portfolio. Metal finishes include: White, Black, Sterling, and Modern Brass.
LED illumination is emitted from alabaster diffusers that can be placed in a variety of positions along the conductive leather straps, a feature that allows for customization to suit any project.
Part of the offerings under Art + Alchemy by Hubbardton Forge, The SNAPS line is well-suited for residential as well as hospitality and commercial applications.
SNAPS will be on display in the Hubbardton Forge showroom on the first floor of the IHFC building at High Point Market.
