David Lu, Founder, President & CEO of Lite Source, Inc., passed away in his sleep last week following complications related to a brain stem tumor at the age of 63. He is survived by his wife, Celia, and children Audrey and Brian.
Together David and Celia started the company from their home nearly 35 years ago and developed it into an industry-leading supplier of modern portable and fixture lighting. The Chino, Calif.-based company operates permanent showrooms in High Point, Las Vegas and Dallas.
“David will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, friendship, and faith in his Lord. He was very active in church and spoke often to the congregation in his capacity as a lay minister. He treated all employees like family and prided himself on developing lasting relationships with his customers and sales representatives that went far beyond business as usual,” says Bob Baker, VP/Sales & Marketing.
“It goes without saying that David’s presence and zest for life will be greatly missed. He genuinely enjoyed getting to know people on a personal level and was part of a select group that helped pioneer decorative lighting into the major industry that we see today,” Baker notes. “In the tradition and spirit of Lite Source we will continue forward with David’s vision of bringing to market affordable, modern designs in lighting.”
