Amid industry rumors that have been swirling for months, Minka will indeed be under new ownership. Ferguson has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Minka Group, subject to regulatory approval.
According to Christine Dwyer, Senior Director of Communications & Public Relations for Ferguson, Minka will continue to operate as it always has and will be business as usual. “We are excited to welcome Minka’s management team and associates to Ferguson and continue building on the company’s longstanding success in the decorative lighting industry,” she said.
Minka Group is comprised of the brands George Kovacs, Metropolitan Lighting Fixture Co., Minka Lavery, and Minka-Aire ceiling fans.
