Jo Ann Miller Marshall Named SVP/Leasing for DMC

Market veteran Jo Ann Miller Marshall joins Dallas Market Center (DMC) as Senior Vice President/Leasing–Temporary Home & Gift. She will start her new position on October 4 and report to Cindy Morris, President & CEO.

Miller Marshall is responsible for the strategic merchandising, prospecting, and leasing of the Temps marketplace during Total Home & Gift Markets. The Temps at Total Home & Gift Market encompass five distinct neighborhoods across more than 1 million square feet and includes leading brands of gifts, home décor, tabletop, holiday/floral, gourmet, paper, and fashion.

Recent trade shows in Dallas, including Total Home & Gift Markets, have been among the largest and most active B2B trade events in North America. Attendance has expanded significantly including a record number of new buyers, major stores, and independent retailers from all 50 states.

“Jo Ann brings unmatched experience, leadership, and vision to our company. She will immediately build upon our momentum as a marketplace delivering top buyers and brands,” says Cindy Morris. “Reps and manufacturers know that shows in Dallas are the best opportunity to capture new business in 2022, so we welcome Jo Ann to the team and look forward to benefiting from her expertise.”

For more than 25 years, Miller Marshall held leadership roles with AmericasMart Atlanta, including Executive VP/Trade Shows. Most recently, she served as EVP & President of Trade Shows for International Market Centers (IMC) where she oversaw trade show sales and leadership for Atlanta Gift & Home Markets, Atlanta Apparel Market, LightFair International, High Point Furniture Market, and Las Vegas Gift & Home Markets.

“I’m pleased to join a family-owned company with bedrock values including a total commitment to the customer,” Miller Marshall states. “Dallas Market Center is thriving as a center of commerce and inspiration, and I look forward to capitalizing on its momentum to create even more value for brands and the buyers we serve.”

Miller Marshall is supported by a team of leasing, buyer delivery, and marketing experts with deep experience and success in the midst of challenging trade show conditions. In 2020-2021, DMC held a full calendar of in-person events that served tens of thousands of buyers from coast to coast while balancing good health with good business. The number of new buyer applications for DMC is up 50% compared with 2019, and attendance is also ahead of 2019.

Upcoming at Dallas Market Center is the Total Home & Gift Market, September 22-24 as well as Dallas Design Week, September 20-23, and ArchLIGHT Summit, September 21-22, a new lighting trade event and educational platform for the architectural, specification, and design communities.
