Koncept Accepts Settlement on Equo Patent Suit: Monrovia, Calif.-based Koncept, a design company specializing in LED lighting solutions, has resolved its patent infringement lawsuit against iTouchless relating to the company’s popular Equo LED desk lamp.
The settlement was reached after Koncept filed suit in U.S. District Court, Central California Division against iTouchless Housewares and Products, a Northern California home products company. The suit alleged that iTouchless had imported and sold lamps in the U.S. under Models #SL007M and #SL007S that infringed Koncept’s patents relating to Koncept’s Equo LED desk lamp Model #ELX-A.
The two companies reached a settlement, and the lawsuit was dismissed on August 7. In the settlement, iTouchless agreed that Koncept’s U.S. Design Patent No. D622,885 S is valid and enforceable, and was infringed by iTouchless’ lamps at issue. As part of the settlement, iTouchless agreed to cease all U.S. sales of the LED desk lamp Models #SL007M and #SL007S and to return-ship or destroy all U.S. inventory of those products.
