January 2017 – Lighting One members kicked off the Lightovation market with an evening of networking and socializing Tuesday night at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Dallas. With 100+ members present, the party launched Lighting One’s theme for 2017 “Together We Shine.”

Lighting One celebrated another banner year for its co-op. Now over 150 members and 300 locations strong, Lighting One saw its sixth year of continuous growth with aligned suppliers. Last year marked its 15-year anniversary and with that brought a new logo and brand platform, which was unveiled at the 2016 summer convention. The new look is designed to represent the group’s strength and benefits.

“The strength of our group really starts with our unity,” says Madie Young, Lighting One membership consultant. “Lighting One is more than a product or buying group; it is a cooperative of showrooms dedicated to making spaces shine through service, accessibility, and superior value. It’s great to see everyone come together at an event like this and celebrate the true impact the Lighting One group can have when we work together.”

Lighting One will shift gears next week to planning its annual June Lighting One Convention just before the summer market. “It is important for Lighting One to support the industry as a whole by bringing members to the typically softer June market,” says Young. Over the past two years Lighting One has doubled the number of member showrooms who attend June Lightovation, and they plan to keep the trend going this year.

“Our members are not going to want to miss this year’s convention,” she adds. “We are introducing powerful programs designed to drive consumers into member showrooms including a brand new national Web site and a turnkey local digital marketing program.” In addition to new programs, products, and group purchase opportunities, the convention will also feature educational speakers and breakout sessions on relevant topics to enhance individual businesses. The convention will close with Lighting One’s annual Awards Reception honoring key members, suppliers, and industry representatives.

The co-op may have a new look, but its mission is still the same: to enable members to be more profitable, competitive, and sustainable by providing increased rebate and enhanced programs.
