Reaffirming its commitment to local manufacturing, the Littman Group, based in City of Industry, Calif., officially opened its new 200,000-sq.-ft. facility this spring. The expansive building houses corporate offices, a product showroom, manufacturing, and warehousing for its Troy Lighting, Corbett Lighting, CSL (Creative Systems Lighting), and Hudson Valley Lighting brands.
David Littman, group president, and Steve Nadell, president of Troy-CSL Lighting, hosted a group of local dignitaries and industry friends. In challenging economic times, the new facility brings jobs and increased visibility to City of Industry as well as boosts the morale of employees,î Littman explains. ìNo detail has been overlooked and no expense spared when it came to the technology, design, and construction of our new West Coast headquarters. Nearly a year since the official groundbreaking, the building has been fully operational since December and includes new CNC-based milling station, brake press, laser machinery, and an automated powder-coating system. In addition, the engineering department has been outfitted with systems to accommodate more LED technology. We have invested in new manufacturing equipment in order to increase efficiency and to compete more effectively with offshore production. Our goal is to increase our share of domestic manufacturing in coming yearsî comments Nadell. The new facility is joined by a 100,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in Upstate New York.
