For the second year, Calhoun, Ga.-based Surya has partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to help increase awareness of breast cancer and the need for early detection and treatment.
From now through the end of October – as part of its Think Pink campaign – the rug and home accessories brand will donate 10% of proceeds from the sale of 60 pink products to NBCF in support of the Foundation’s educational campaigns, research initiatives, and national mammography program. According to NBCF, it is estimated that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. However, when breast cancer is detected early (at the localized stage), the 5-year survival rate is 98 percent.
“Even one death from breast cancer is one too many,” says Satya Tiwari, President of Surya. “NBCF continues to be a great champion for women in the fight against breast cancer and we are pleased to partner with the organization in its ongoing mission to provide crucial education and support services to women throughout the world.”
