New York International Gift Fair 2013: Approximately 400 companies representing 43 countries are slated to exhibit at the winter edition of the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), January 26-30, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal’s Piers 92 & 94.
Most of these companies will be grouped together in 12 government-sponsored pavilions or organized groups, located in three of NYIGF’s 10 divisions. Several others will participate in Artisan Resource™, a GLM trade show running concurrently with NYIGF, which connects international artisanal producers with U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers and wholesalers.
“Global resources can be found across NYIGF, spanning many product categories,” said Christian Falkenberg, NYIGF Director and GLM Vice President. “No other U.S. market offers attendees access to such a diverse range of international home, lifestyle, and handmade resources.”
Among the 43 exhibiting countries are: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Mexico, Morocco, Mozambique, Nepal, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, and Vietnam.
Five international pavilions from France, Germany, Israel, Japan, and the United Kingdom, will be located in NYIGF’s General Gift division. Within the juried Accent on Design® division, the British Design Group will return with three companies, and the “Accent on Japan” group, an independently organized contingent, will return with four companies.
Global suppliers of hand-crafted products will be showcased in both sections of the Handmade division. Within Handmade® Designer Maker, Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, Messe Stuttgart will return with 22 companies, and the British Contemporary Crafts group will include 17 companies. In Handmade® Global Design, the Israel Export Institute will represent two companies.
Two groups representing multiple suppliers of artisan resources will participate in Artisan Resource at New York’s Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 92. The Consulate General of Indonesia will participate with two companies, and the Dudhraj Global Business Network (P) Ltd. from Nepal will represent 10 companies.
