[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will stage the 3rd Hong Kong International Outdoor & Tech Light Expo October 26 to 29 at the AsiaWorld-Expo and the 20th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) from October 27 to 30 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

A convenient, free shuttle bus will transport attendees between the two fairs.
Together, the two events are estimated to showcase 3,100 exhibitors from around the world. Last year’s Autumn edition attracted close to 69,000 buyers from 151 countries and regions.

Of particular interest to lighting designers and specifiers will be a special section focusing on smart lighting systems for the home powered by the Internet of Things, connecting multiple lighting devices in a single platform. A commissioned survey conducted during the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) indicates 72 percent of buyers and exhibitors interviewed were optimistic about the market potential of smart lighting, with home automation expected to be the most promising (27 percent) among other smart lighting applications in the next two years.

In response to industry demand, this year’s Autumn edition of the Lighting Fair will debut the Smart Home Gallery featuring smart home lighting products from such brands as Yeelight/Xiaomi, Philips, Opple Lighting, Tmall Genie AI Union, and Tuya. The Smart Lighting & Solutions Zone will highlight the latest smart lighting designs, software, management systems, and control panels.

The Outdoor & Tech Light Expo will unveil a new Horticultural Lighting Zone to showcase grow lights for plants in farms, domestic landscaping, and public parks. The popular Exterior Lighting Solutions & Systems Zone and Outdoor & Public Lighting and Outdoor Advertising Zones return for the Fair, highlighting high-performance and energy-efficient lighting systems and technologies.

During both Fairs, there will be various events such as networking receptions and buyer forums to help industry players expand their professional networks and learn first-hand about market developments. Seminars on smart street lights, testing and certification services, as well as horticultural lighting will also be held to reveal the industry’s latest trends.
