The Kichler community has been saddened by the death of Steven Firstenberg, Ph.D., the company’s first International Sales Manager, who passed away suddenly on January 30 at age 71. For the past 20 years, Firstenberg was instrumental in the growth and success of Kichler’s international sales efforts. His ability to forge customer relationships and build lasting friendships were the hallmark of his professional career. Firstenberg held a strong belief that a person’s work was a noble calling, which he embraced by his dedication to the company and the growth of the Kichler team. He was a principled person and always emphasized the need to tell the truth – even when doing so was not popular. His sense of humor, creativity, generosity with his time and talent, and fundamental belief in people were treasured by all who knew him. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Yeshiva University, Belfer Graduate School of Science and embarked on a career in international service and sales activities. He is survived by his loving wife and college sweetheart Barbara, sons Michael and Joshua (Halley), daughter Karen, grandchildren Benjamin, Eitan and Elle, and brother David.
