Cooledge Lighting Inc., based in Vancouver, announced the launch of commercial offices in Waltham, Mass. The new space will house sales, product management, and marketing functions, while R&D, engineering, and manufacturing operations will remain at the company’s headquarters in British Columbia.
The company hopes the newly-established East Coast presence will complete its transition from fast-growth startup to an industry leader in luminous surfaces; illumination integral to architecture.
“Cooledge is exploiting the advantages of LEDs by delivering flexible, customizable luminous surfaces that change the way we use and experience light,” says CEO William J. Sims. “As a long-time hub for solid-state lighting and related startups, Boston is an ideal location to take our next major strides toward reinventing the industry. We believe that luminous surfaces will transform the design-build process as we know it, and we have the vision and agility to make it happen.”
Cooledge initiated operations in its Waltham office in October and currently employs 15 staff members with plans to expand.
