The fast advancement of LED, digital, and adjacent technologies has created immense possibilities for lighting solutions today. The shifting market dynamics are encouraging lighting suppliers to think outside the box. The resulting innovations will be on display at the 21st edition of Asia’s most comprehensive lighting and LED event, the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE), which runs June 9 to 12 at the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China.
Lucia Wong, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, notes “The international lighting community is brimming with creativity and continuously thinking ahead to formulate ways to present existing products, solutions, and technologies in a completely new dimension. Not only will these ideas be discussed at GILE 2016, but so too will be the latest trends affecting the market.”
The 2016 show combines advanced technical and design ideas to bring human-centric concepts in lighting applications, such as: Office & Industrial; Retail & Hospitality; Residential & Transport; and Urban & Architectural.
In the Office & Industrial Lighting sector, solutions include multi-functional applications that improve visual conditions, maximize the use of natural light, and adjustable color temperatures.
For the Retail & Hospitality Lighting area, solutions include methods for enhancing the ambiance of each sector in a way that matches brand identities to create dynamic spaces. In addition, information is transferred via connected lighting to aid in energy management.
When it comes to the Residential & Transport Lighting sector, there are advancements in both categories that improve safety conditions as well as enrich visual comfort. Reliable, wireless and standardized designs are some of the focuses for this area.
In Urban & Architectural Lighting, the products on display will integrate design, daylight, and electric lighting systems in a manner that connects people with streetscapes and the sky. The result is greater wayfinding, interaction, and visual interest. In fact, some of these solutions harmonize cities’ identities to create coherent lighting impressions.
More than 70% of the booths reserved for 21st edition of the show are from leading brands that will demonstrate their innovative technologies. For example, GILE exhibitor APT Electronics Ltd will promote its white LED chip module and modified flip-chip bonding technology that eliminates bond wires and delivers color consistency without significant added cost.
With thermal management remaining critical to the long-term performance and reliability of LEDs, Dow Corning (China) Holding Co Ltd. will demonstrate its latest LED packaging films, high thermal conductive die attach epoxies, moldable silicone lenses, and white reflector coatings. The company’s products enable accurate reproducibility, complex mechanical designs, and a lower total cost of ownership.
The LED Grow Light market is predicted to rise to more than USD $1.9 billion by 2020, growing at a CAGR of nearly 27%, according to a new report published by MarketsandMarkets. First-time exhibitor Shenzhen VANQ Technology Co Ltd. will display its competitively priced LED grow lights that emphasize aesthetics while offering easy installation, maintenance, power efficiency, and durability.
