The American Lighting Association (ALA) has just unveiled a brand new, free service for its membership that will allow ALA members to keep up with member and industry news in one convenient place.

In an interview with enLIGHTenment Magazine, Eric Jacobson, ALA’s President likened the service to a news aggregator that will key in specifically on information relevant to the lighting industry. (Common news aggregators include the Huffington Post, Google News, My Yahoo!, and Digg.)

According to Jacobson, members can customize their newsfeed to emphasize articles based on topics and interests they have selected. In addition, the newsfeed will have stories generated by ALA’s manufacturer members and other publications as well as sponsored content. The news service is co-sponsored by enLIGHTenment Magazine, Home Accents Today, and Residential Lighting.

ALA members can locate the newsfeed on the ALA’s Web site:  http://www.americanlightingassoc.myindustrytracker.com
