American Lighting Association launches a series of lighting videos for consumers. As part of its Bi-National Advertising and Public Relations programs, the American Lighting Association (ALA) has released a new video series that encourages consumers to think of lighting as an important design element. The five videos – which were shot during the Dallas International Lighting Market in January – are hosted by interior decorator Laurie Smith, one of the two original designers on TLC’s Trading Spaces and author of the book Discovering Home with Laurie Smith, and by lighting designer Sergio Orozco, president of Sergio Orozco Designs Inc.
In the videos, Smith and Orozco discuss the importance of lighting from an interior designer’s perspective, focusing on different aspects of lighting and suggesting ways to incorporate lighting into every homeowner’s design plan.
Additionally, the videos promote ALA-member showrooms as the premier source for lighting products and expertise.
“Our new consumer videos are a great tool for ALA member showrooms,” says Larry Lauck, ALA’s VP/Communications. “Showrooms can post the videos on their Web sites, add them to their e-newsletters, and use them for their in-store displays. I hope retailers take full advantage of this offering.”
The videos will also be used for ALA’s media outreach, including postings to ALA’s Web site, YouTube, Facebook, BHG.com, and other home décor Web sites as well as inclusion in ALA’s Bright Ideas consumer newsletter.
