DMC Appoints Theresa O’Dea as VP/Business Development, Design

Marketing veteran Theresa O’Dea has joined Dallas Market Center (DMC) as Vice President of Business Development, Design. She will be responsible for buyer delivery and the buyer growth strategy for Design, which includes residential and commercial interior design.

O’Dea brings more than two decades of marketing experience to the position. Most recently she was owner of a marketing and communications agency supporting a variety of clients in design, transportation, tech, and B2B. She reports to DMC COO Karen Ryder.

“Theresa’s knowledge of marketing and passion for design are a winning combination,” says Karen Ryder. “Our open-daily design business is unmatched among market centers, and we are confident she will identify new opportunities and capitalize upon our trajectory.”

O’Dea joins DMC during unprecedented growth in new buyers visiting the open-daily marketplace and new brands taking space in its collection of buildings. The marketplace has recently welcomed dozens of new and expanding Design resources, and its Temps at Total Home & Gift Market have been completely reimagined and expanded.

“I’m eager to build upon the momentum at DMC and create new opportunities for brands and buyers to connect and thrive,” O’Dea notes. “That begins with listening to the customer then collaborating with the community to support their objectives and drive traffic into our marketplace throughout the year.”

For home décor, DMC is the largest open-daily design center in North America, with more than 1.5 million square feet of leading home and design manufacturers. Each month, thousands of interior designers visit the marketplace, and design events throughout the year are held in partnership with industry organizations and media partners. Four times a year, Total Home & Gift Markets welcomes gift and home buyers; and twice a year, the marketplace hosts the largest residential lighting trade event in North America, Lightovation. Twice a year, Dallas Design Week welcomes more than 1,000 interior designers for multiple days of programming, and the annual ArchLIGHT Summit is a growing lighting trade event and educational platform for the architectural, specification, and design communities.VP
