Mirrors can make a small room appear larger, add visual interest to a wall, plus serve a functional purpose. Here are some of the latest styles on the market.

Hubbardton Forge

Slim in shape, the Beveled Oval Mirror complements many of the company’s various lighting fixtures, but also looks just as stunning on its own. The metalwork frame is handcrafted by the artisans at the forge in Vermont.

The company’s series of Lit Mirrors can be illuminated with LEDs or T5 fluorescents and ordered in rectangular, round, and oval wall-mounted and rectangular stand-alone shapes as well as custom. A minimum quantity of 10 is needed for custom work; however, dimensions, LED color temperature, and special features such as defoggers, color-tuning, and switches can be implemented.
The LED models have an estimated average of 50,000 hours of life, compared to the 20,000-hour life of the T5 linear fluorescents. The LED versions also have the strip directly behind the cut-outs for optimal light output with no hotspots. With the light placement enclosed inside the mirror, cleaning is easy and the chance of damage/breakage is greatly reduced.

Capital Lighting

This handsome wood wall mirror is part of the company’s Global Fusion series and features a mango wood frame with brass-plated metal trim. Hand-crafted and hand-finished, it can be hung vertically or horizontally to help pull together a vintage, global, or contemporary look with complementary elements.

This LED-illuminated standing mirror is distinguished by a unique crystal frame. A smart touch dimmer switch allows the user to select the exact amount of light desired. The legs of the mirror are height-adjustable.

Studio A

The Forest mirror exhibits an abstract faux bois pattern in a mix of Brass and Bronze finishes. The decoration process is a lengthy one: First, the substrate is wrapped entirely in brass sheet that has been hand-embossed with the forest pattern; next, the frame is given an Oil-Rubbed Bronze finish; and lastly the faux bois relief is rubbed to expose the golden brass underneath. It measures 52” high x 36” wide x 4” deep and comes with both vertical and horizontal metal wall cleats pre-installed for versatile hanging.

The Twickenham beveled rectangular mirror is distinguished by a hand-painted, triple-antiqued frame in a Silver finish.

Chandeliers are a classic lighting feature, a concept that designer David Abad – on behalf of Spanish lighting manufacturer B.lux – used to create a suspension lamp consisting of a circular ring featuring several modules of LED projectors to provide uniform illumination.

The R2 is available in three sizes and in the following finishes: Natural Oak, Bronze, White, Black, and Matte. The fixture is easy to install, thanks to a central suspension wire.

The world’s first LiFi-enabled light bar will be demonstrated by pureLiFi and Linmore LED at Lux Live, held November 15-16 in London. The introduction of the first LED “light bar” is forecasted to replace the most conventional form of lighting within commercial and industrial facilities: fluorescent tubes.

With wireless connectivity constantly evolving, the spectrum now has to accommodate more mobile users and is predicted to increase to 20 billion devices by 2020 — which will result in a “spectrum crunch.” The use of LiFi, however, can open up 1,000 times more spectrum for wireless communications to combat this phenomenon. [LiFi is a transformative technology that utilizes LED lighting fixtures to transmit high-speed, bi-directional, secure, and fully networked wireless Internet.]

According to manufacturer pureLiFi, integration of LiFi within LED strip lights will drive mass adoption, enabling LiFi to easily move into full-scale implementation within offices, schools, warehouses, and anywhere illumination is required. Linmore LED specializes in the retrofit market and ensures its portfolio of LED products perform in the top 1-percent for energy efficiency in the industry.
