The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas is on schedule to open in July 2020 for the summer Las Vegas Market. International Market Centers (IMC) announced that this new 315,000-square-foot exhibition facility in downtown Las Vegas, which will host the Las Vegas Market gift and home temporary exhibits each January and July and is available for trade shows and other private events, has gone vertical.
“Construction is on schedule and on budget,” says Bob Maricich, CEO of IMC. “We’re delighted to cooperate with the city of Las Vegas to bring this new exhibition venue to Las Vegas.”
General contractor, Penta Building Group, broke ground in July 2019. Since that time, seven of the ten steel sequences have been completed and the largest steel truss piece – spanning more than 180 feet in length – has been erected. A real-time, live feed of The Expo construction site is available online at https://www.expowmclv.com/.
When completed in July 2020, this $90-million, state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility will feature 194,785 gross square feet of exhibit space, divisible into two halls – North with 97,684 gross square feet and South with 97,101 gross square feet – which can accommodate up to 1,000 booths. The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas will feature an expansive lobby area, registration area, onsite shuttle bus depot, attached parking garage and two permanent “grab and go” food service areas.
“All external steel work is scheduled to be completed by January 2020,” Maricich says. “Other than some construction-related shifts to registration locations and transportation options, it will be ‘business as usual’ for Winter 2020 Market-goers.”
During Winter 2020 Las Vegas Market, IMC will erect three temporary tents to house scan-and-go badge pickup for pre-registered attendees, onsite registration, and coat and bag check. Transportation shifts include a new taxi stand location (in the surface lot at Grand Central Parkway and Symphony Park Avenue) and the debut of a new city of Las Vegas parking garage (directly across the street from World Market Center Las Vegas). IMC will continue to offer complimentary hotel shuttles through the campus’ newly refurbished shuttle bus terminal, as well as on-campus Lyft and Uber pick-up and an on-site parking garage.
