Designers Lighting Forum of New York, reports LEDucation 6 Breaks Attendance Records With 2,000+ Attendees

LEDucation Breaks Record With 20% Attendee IncreaseLighting and architectural professionals from across North America and Europe gathered at New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania to learn and experience the latest development in solid-state lighting in one of the industry’s most-talked-about, single-day lighting educational expositions. With extended exhibitor hours and an expanded exhibit hall, LEDucation 6 provided visitors with the opportunity to view the latest innovations, technology, and products from a sold out exhibit hall of 92+ leading manufacturers from across the globe.  LEDucation 6 also provided an insightful and informative educational program of four CEU programs.

“We had a feeling that this year’s event was going to surpass our expectations when we had over 1,200 advance online registrations,” comments Peggy Mehan, Event Co-Chair and one of the original committee members.  “We are grateful for the many exhibitors and sponsors that continue to support this event year after year and are ecstatic to see our attendance continue to rise each and every year.”

Dedicated to advancing the education of the lighting community, LEDucation offers key updates and glimpses into the future of the industry. Educational seminars were conducted by some of the industry’s leading authorities and gave visitors a chance to catch up on the latest advancements in solid-state technology and controls. Attendees enjoyed seminars from professionals such as: Naomi Miller of PNNL; Alex Baker of Energy Star; Nelson Jenkins  of Lumen Architecture; Renee Cooley of Cooley Monato Studio; Sean Hennessy of Hennessy Design; Ruth Mellergaard of GRID/3 International; Chad Stalker of Philips Lumileds; Craig Fox of ETC Architectural; Gilles Abrahamse of eldoLED; John Gebbie of Barbizon Lighting; Gabe Gulliams of Buro Happold; Ethan Biery of Lutron; and Sleiman Zogheib of Redwood.

Ever since the inception of LEDucation six years ago, in 2007, the volunteer committee aspires to bring a regional event to the lighting industry that provided both an educational forum that gives the design, education, and engineering community the opportunity to speak directly with a variety of manufacturers about the latest technologies and products and to also gain valuable educational credits with the accredited seminars.  Plans for LEDucation 7 are underway and the date and location will be announced at a later date.
