Syracuse N.Y. based Mohawk Global Logistics partnered with Meyda Lighting to help renovate its new space in the long-vacant U.S. Air Reservation Center.
“We are grateful to the city of Syracuse and the Hancock International Airport for working with us on this project,” says Mohawk’s President and CEO Gar Grannell. “It’s exciting to partner with Meyda Lighting to help us with this remodeling project. It’s exciting to have a space that we can grow into as we continue to expand and add jobs.”
Meyda Tiffany Lighting designed and manufactured custom art glass lighting to meet Mohawk Global Logistics’ specific needs. Made in the USA for Mohawk, Meyda created the Moonscape Collection in a variety of fixtures designed and crafted with Grey and Clear organically shaped glass with frit. Two inverted pendants (model #131351, with a width and length of 26 inches and an overall height ranging from 15 to 67 inches from the ceiling) were installed in the conference room. Two vanity lights (model #131702 with a width of 31 inches, an eight-inch height and a diameter of six inches) and one flushmount were installed in the executive bathrooms.
“Airports continue to grow as centers of economic development, and this is just one example of how an industry like aviation can foster growth and development outside of the terminal building,” notes Aviation Commissioner Christina Reale. “It is not only access to air transportation, but the easy and convenient access to and from major highways, that makes Syracuse Hancock International Airport an ideal location for non-traditional airport growth and development.”
The newly renovated space boasts a training room, where the company will hold its global trade seminars and other educational events for clients and members of the business community. In support of local businesses, Mohawk has also partnered with Central New York-based Harden Furniture to accent the building’s interior.
