The American Lighting Association (ALA) is seeking nominations of inspirational women in the residential lighting community for its Women in Lighting (WIL) committee’s 4th Annual Women in Lighting Leadership Award (WILLA). The 2022 award will be presented during the June 22-25, 2022, Lightovation show at Dallas Market Center.

WILLA annually recognizes one individual for her role in at least two of the following activities within the past two years:

  • Achievement/leadership in the lighting industry
  • Support of the American Lighting Association (ALA)
  • Mentoring of other women in the lighting industry
  • Devotion to their community through philanthropy, volunteer work, or outstanding active support/participation

The recipient must be a member of the ALA, nominated by an ALA member, and voted upon by the WIL Committee.

Last year’s WILLA recipient was Bulbrite President Cathy Choi; previous recipients include Nora Lighting Executive Vice President Jilla Farzan and Lighting Etc. founder Norma Cooper.

The upcoming ALA Virtual Symposium, starting November 1, will officially kick off the nomination process. Nominations will continue to be accepted through Jan. 31, 2022. Visit LightingWomen.com to enter any deserving individual’s name.
