NY NOW® has cancelled of its in-person Winter 2021 Market scheduled for February 7 to 10, 2021 out of concern for the safety of its buyers and exhibitors as well as government restrictions on large gatherings and travel limitations to the New York City area in particular. While restrictions change with the COVID-19 infection numbers, the Javits Convention Center is currently closed with no announced re-opening date.
“We are extremely disappointed to cancel our Winter 2021 in-person market. However, it has become clear that it will not be possible to bring our community together in New York in February. Our attention now turns to build on the success of our recently launched NY NOW Digital Market,” says Tim Hart, Senior VP of NY NOW. “The Digital Market is a year-round discovery, connection, and lead generation platform for our community, and we were delighted to welcome more than 650 brands for its launch. It’s a privilege to be on this digital journey with our community, and we are thrilled by the possibilities it creates for us all – particularly when digital and in-person converge at the Javits Center in August 2021.”
The Digital Market will remain online as an ongoing resource for buyers through the end of 2020 and beyond. It will serve as a means to stay connected and a year-round engagement, discovery, and connection platform that meets buyers’ sourcing and replenishment needs, any time, from anywhere.
In 2021, the Digital Market will be highlighted by the Winter Market Week running between Thursday, January 28 and Wednesday, February 3. The Winter Market Week will feature a full program of content + experiences, show specials, new product introductions, and more.
