Sustainability in product manufacturing is topic of growing interest and concern in the home furnishings world among designers and consumers. International Market Centers (IMC) is hosting a complimentary program as part of its Las Vegas Design Center’s (LVDC) monthly “First Friday” webinar series that will address the intricacies of sustainability in product manufacturing. Participants in the free Feb. 5 session will receive 0.1 CEU credits.
“This program will provide insight about the importance of transparency when it comes to the manufacturing and use of sustainable products,” says LVDC General Manager Cain Brodie. “With so much focus these days on creating healthy, sustainable interiors, the discussion also will help designers understand and embrace LEED V4 and other healthy building standards.”
The February webinar – Trace It Back: A Course in Transparency – provides an overview of materials transparency and how it relates to green building and socially and environmentally responsible manufacturing. Participants will learn about product life cycles, associated health and environmental impacts, and how to use transparency to determine best material choices for a healthier business environment.
The webinar will be presented by Mike Johnson, Director/Sustainability for 3form, a leading manufacturer of award-winning, sustainable materials and architectural hardware solutions for the architecture and design industry. The 90-minute session is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. (PT) on Friday, Feb. 5. For information and registration, go to https://imcenters.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ArwMVvStS2SdxMC_mte5ww.
