With the goal of wishing to spend more time with family, including their new grandchild, Irwindale, Calif.-based Trend Lighting founders Thomas and Tracy Huang have decided to retire and begin the process of winding down operations.
All existing orders, commissions, and warranties will be honored; the company phone number and emails will remain open for one full year to honor product warranties. The announcement was made by David Huang, General Manager, on behalf of Thomas and Tracy. Trend product will continue to be available through the company’s distributors for several more months, and the company will continue operations until all shipments and orders are fulfilled.
“Our company remains fiscally strong, and we will honor our current commitments to our customers,” David Huang noted, adding, “On behalf of my family, I would like to thank [everyone] for a job well done. We would especially like to thank our Sales Representatives and our staff for their hard work and commitment to our company. Many have been with us for decades and we built our company with you. We thank you for your service and your loyalty. We will cherish the times spent together and hold all of you dear to our hearts.”
The choice to close the business is reportedly not financially based, but rather a “lifestyle” decision that the family wishes to do “with the same pride and dignity, with which Trend was created and thrived, for well over three decades.”
