USA Illumination Receives Industry Kudos
NEW WINDSOR, N.Y.-based USAI® Lighting netted five honors from the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES), as part of the organization’s 2012 Progress Report, and Architectural Products’ Product Innovation Awards (PIA), which recognize design ingenuity in the built environment.
“As LED technology continues to refine and evolve, we’re excited to not just be a part of this new frontier, but to lead it with LED solutions that never compromise beautiful color, performance, or optical control,” says Bonnie Littman, President of USAI Lighting. “We’re honored IES and Architectural Products recognize our commitment to answering the long-awaited call of the lighting community with LED solutions that effectively replace traditional sources through their seamless blend of technical and design precision.”
The annual IES report, which honors the year’s most groundbreaking innovations in lighting, features three of the latest additions to USAI Lighting’s portfolio, including:
- NanoLED® NXT, an LED solution providing performance and color-consistent quality from a smaller package than ever before
- BeveLED® 2.0, a revolutionary light source that achieves more than 2000 delivered lumens from 33 watts and ideal color consistency to break through the design
- Warm Glow DimmingT, a solution that merges the benefits of LED technology with the beauty of warm color to make LEDs indistinguishable from fixtures utilizing an incandescent light source when dimmed.
Established by the IES in 1911, the Progress Report was designed to celebrate significant developments and improvements in the lighting industry. This year’s Report, which was presented Nov. 12 at the IES Annual Conference in Minneapolis, features selections that cover light sources, luminaires, materials, power supplies, publications, design tools, and research. The IES Progress Committee of lighting professionals selects products based on visual and optical performance, innovation, energy efficiency, size, and industry significance.
The second annual 2012 Architectural Products’ Product Innovation Awards (PIA) recognize the year’s most innovative and refined product introductions in categories ranging from surfaces to lighting. Both USAI Lighting’s NanoLED NXT and BeveLED 2.0 solutions were selected as winners in the Lighting category on Nov. 8. Judged by a group of 50 independent industry professionals, the PIA competition aims to present architects, specifiers, interior designers, and building owners/operators with innovative, visually aesthetic products that deliver better performance, life, and affordability.
“At USAI Lighting, we work hard to optimize LED technology so that our customers can truly ‘have it all’ in one light source,” says Littman. “Using their challenges and needs as our design inspiration, we look forward to pioneering the next generation of solutions now and well into the future.”
