The lighting buyers have spoken! They came, they saw…they voted. The winners of the inaugural Market Choice Awards, co-sponsored by the Dallas Market Center and enLIGHTenment Magazine, have been selected by lighting buyers attending the June International Lighting Market in Dallas June 18-21.
Lighting store buyers who enLIGHTenment Magazine spoke to were excited to take part in the competition and appreciated being able to easily find new products at the June market courtesy of signage outside of each participating manufacturer’s showroom.
The contest was created to promote the introductions that lighting companies bring out mid-year – a time when many buyers believe there aren’t enough new products on display at the summer markets. The timing of having new items at the halfway point of the year is especially helpful for retailers who don’t carry deep inventories. Being able to offer fresh designs to customers at the busiest time of the year (pre-holiday entertaining) is something many lighting store owners appreciate. Once the word is out that there are plenty of new products to purchase at the summer edition of the International Lighting Market, the hope is that an increasing number of buyers will attend the June show in the years ahead.
In the first-ever Market Choice Awards, more than 30 lighting companies entered the competition with nearly 70 new products in six categories.
