Rocky Mount, Va.-based Uttermost, manufactures of home lighting and decor, has announced that Jim Parsons – who founded GuildMaster in 1981 alongside his wife, Ellie, and served as the company’s CEO and designer – is now designing products for the Uttermost.
In the years since he sold GuildMaster in 2001 to Decorize (which then changed its name to GuildMaster), Jim Parsons has designed products for a number of top licensed brands, created private collections for several furniture manufacturers, plus owned six different home furnishings stores.
“Jim is a talented designer with a long history of producing great design,” Uttermost President Mac Cooper comments. “Even more importantly, he is a person who takes the time from his work schedule to help support the adoption and foster care training for children in China. It’s an honor to work with Jim.”
Parsons will be working across several product categories at Uttermost, bringing a fresh perspective and new look to the line. His first collection for Uttermost will debut in early 2014.
