Wesley Glover
Renowned lamp designer Wesley D. Glover, age 68, passed away on February 22 after suffering a stroke. A second-generation lighting industry veteran, Wesley studied Fine Art in college and worked as a lamp designer for his father, Walter E. Glover who was President of the lighting manufacturer Keystone Lamp. Wesley’s brother, Brian, served as National Sales Manager of the family-owned company.
After leaving Keystone Wesley joined Murray Feiss Lighting as the head portable lighting designer in 1996 and was the driving force behind the manufacturer’s successful Home Decor Division. A student of art and design, as well as the history of design, Wesley preferred the old school method of drawing each of his designs by hand before transferring them to the modern CAD system. Lighting was his passion and he spent countless hours seeking out and developing new materials, glass, and specialty finishes to incorporate into his designs.
Wesley left Feiss in 2011 when a change in management led to a de-emphasization of the Home Decor division and portable lamps. Since then, Wesley had successfully battled throat cancer and had recently begin designing again. He will be missed by his family, friends, and former colleagues.
