Slated for the time period that would have been the American Lighting Association’s annual conference, the organization has created an online educational symposium — complete with networking opportunities & a social event.
Undaunted by the COVID-19 pandemic causing the cancellation of its planned conference in September at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla., the American Lighting Association (ALA) has countered with a digital solution, announcing, “We’re Bringing the Industry’s Brightest Ideas to You.”
The ALA will launch a virtual symposium from September 14th to 16th featuring educational sessions from recognized experts in retail, marketing, economics, and lighting. In short, it will be very similar to the annual conference experience ALA members have come to expect, but without the physical restrictions of meeting in person.
These virtual presentations will reportedly include live question-and-answer sessions just as would occur at an on-site conference. Showroom and manufacturers’ sales rep members can join virtual (non-competing) networking groups to share challenges and solutions with their peers.
The ALA Symposium will kick off with a social event – in the spirit of the customary “Welcome Reception” but with attendees making their own drinks – where everyone can sit down, relax, and chat like they normally would do at this fun gathering.
Registration will open soon. ALA members can click here https://bit.ly/VirtSymp for more details, including the comprehensive list of educational sessions being offered.
