Bruce Hathaway Joins Brazilian Lighting Company

Industry veteran Bruce Hathaway, who has held prominent sales roles at Hubbardton Forge and Quoizel, has joined Accord Lighting, a Brazilian lighting company founded in 1997 by the Acordi family, which has long specialized in hand-crafted wood furniture.

Most recently, Hathaway held the position of National Residential Sales Manager for the past 10 years at Castleton, Vt.-based domestic lighting manufacturer Hubbardton Forge and will remain in Vermont.

Accord Lighting, which has a North American headquarters in Miami and a distribution center in Missouri, has broadened its hand-crafted furniture line to include cUL-listed portable lighting, pendants, wall sconces, and ceiling fixtures. Hathaway will be responsible for all residential, commercial, designer, and e-commerce sales activities in the U.S. and Canada.

Since its first exhibition in the U.S. during Lightfair 2016, Accord Lighting has steadily increased its reach throughout North America and is an exhibitor with its own permanent showroom (TM 3353) at LIGHTOVATION in the Dallas Market Center.

“The chance to build and manage the North American markets with the team at Accord Lighting is something very special,” Hathaway notes. “Their love of design, custom capabilities, commitment to sustainability, and family-owned principles creates an exciting opportunity to build the Accord Lighting brand across multiple channels. Their combination of true craftsmanship and leading-edge technology creates an opportunity for exceptional growth.”

Accord Lighting’s CEO Bernard Acordi adds, “I’m so happy to welcome Bruce to this newly created position. I have no doubt that his past experience will help us effectively penetrate these markets and build our brand rapidly. Bruce overseeing our sales team and opening new opportunities makes us very excited for the upcoming Dallas LIGHTOVATION show.”
