In Memoriam: Ken Roberson, Sr.

Kendall “Ken” Lee Roberson, Sr., of Old Hickory, Tenn., passed away Thursday, June 22. Born to Virginia Oliver and Romie Lee Roberson in Macon, Ga., on December 16, 1953. Ken graduated from Northeast High School in Macon and began his career as a manufacturer sales representative for the lighting industry in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, plus parts of Indiana and North Carolina. Lines he represented over the years include Quorum, Framburg, Progress, and Hinkley, among others.

Ken’s personal interests included collecting antiques, especially musical machines and radios. He loved restoring antiques of many types back to their original beauty. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast, as well as a lover of fast boats and water skiing. Ken loved to make people laugh, and rarely heard a story without responding, “That reminds me of a joke…”

A devout Christian, Ken married Judy Johnson Roberson and was an outstanding father to his two sons – Kendall “Kenny” Lee Roberson, Jr., and Joel “Joey” Christopher Roberson (Samantha) – and a doting grandfather to Annabelle Kasen Roberson, Alexander Christopher Roberson, and Lionel Keith Kuhn-Roberson.

Predeceased by his parents, Ken is survived by his only sibling: Mercer T. Roberson, Sr. (Pat) and his nephew, Mercer Thomas “Tom” Roberson, Jr. (Kim), and niece, Pamela Roberson Phillips (Bryan).

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 1. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and service will be from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138.
