ALA’s Women in Lighting Group Launches Enhanced Mentorship Program

Building on the success of its popular Mentor Matching program, the American Lighting Association’s Women in Lighting (WIL) Committee has launched an enhanced mentorship initiative for 2024 with the formation of mentorship groups.

As before, women of all experience levels from all segments of the lighting industry are invited to sign up to participate, regardless of ALA membership. But instead of pairing individuals with each other for one-on-one meetings, participants will be assigned to groups that will meet virtually between February and November 2024, and each mentorship group will be guided by a member of the WIL Committee to facilitate productive conversations and knowledge sharing.

“We believe that by everyone sharing our wealth of knowledge, expertise, and best practices, we can all grow and succeed,” said Tammy Pegg, Vice President of SPECTRA and co-chair of the WIL mentorship subcommittee.

The deadline to sign up for a Women in Lighting mentorship group for 2024 is Jan. 14, and can be done at lightingwomen.com.

There will also be scannable QR codes enabling participants to sign up for the program at the WIL reception, 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, in the Eurofase showroom (Trade Mart 4002) during Lightovation. The event will also provide the opportunity to ask questions about the program while networking in person.
